On Tuesday, November 17th, 2009, the Madison Avenue maker of all things finery, Georg Jensen, and Promenade Magazine welcomed the hotel concierge community for a catered reception replete with concierges sipping champagne and looking through glorious silver, watches, and "the 20 must-haves" among other stunning items in this elegant store. After a lovely welcome speech from one of the U.S. executives for Georg Jensen, the concierges were free to roam the new store concept for the company in the US, which has been modified to feel more comfortable, "like a Danish home." It has certainly kept its upscale nature intact however, and even advanced it with a beautiful display for their collection of hand-crafted silver appointments, displayed in the "kitchen" area, place settings and table decorations available in the "dining room" and lifestyle accessories available in the "living room & jewelry gallery." From there it was off to see the tales of a different type of lifestyle accessory at work in "In the Next Room or The Vibrator Play," with transportation graciously provided by Gray Line New York Sightseeing.
