As the witches in Macbeth said:
"Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble."
It's that time of year and you have this week to get the house ready for the onslaught of goblins and ghosts, the spirits and the spirited. Cool Gear has handily put it all together for you on its Web site (and online store - click here) and you can (for a very reasonable amount) buy all kinds of goodies to make the house a bit spooky, to make your tablescape and buffet a little fun and lively, and yes, well, a little creepy-looking.
I especially like the eyeball ice cubes (egads!), called Glow Eyeball Ice Cubes, which glow in the dark and actually keep drinks cold! They are sold in a six-pack, for a mere $4, and they are available at most major national retail chains. (They are BPA-free, as well.) You will want them for sure, for your punch or to spice up a Bloody Mary (the perfect monster drink)!
Cool Gear also makes a 14-ounce Light-Up Skull Mug that will bring your inner freak right out. The vertebrae handle is illuminated with a series of flashing lights. It's well priced at $5.00 and guaranteed to make your guests giggle. (It takes batteries, by the way, so the ability to flash is eternal...and not many flashers can say that!)
Three more wonderful items from Cool Gear are the 24-ounce Light-Up Monster Chillers, the 24-ounce Light-Up Halloween Chillers (both are $7), and the 18-ounce Glow Chillers ($6). The Monster Chillers light-up and feature various well known monter-y, frightening characters (and the glasses themselves have a screw-on lid and a straw); the Light-Up Halloween Chillers also illuminate with Halloween motifs (also with screw-on lid and straw); and lastly, the 18-ounce Glow Chillers have a double-walled construction that will keep blood-thirsty Dracula's drinks colder longer, while the graphics on the glasses glow in the dark (also with screw-on lid and a straw).
You'll find many more items from Cool Gear at your local retailer and you'll want to stock up with all that this clever company offers. Boo!!! (And once you find all your Halloween needs, remember, Christmas is not far off! I'll talk more about that in the future.)
